Your car may be the last thing that you think about when it comes to germs. But do you realize that you could have tons of germs and bacteria living in your car. Let’s face it most people do not actually take the time to clean out their cars as often as they probably should. Following are a few tips and suggestions on how you can make sure that your car is germ free.
1. First you should make sure that you clean the inside of your car at least twice a month. Even if your car does not look dirty it could still be harboring germs.
2. Use disinfectant car wipes to clean the interior of your car. These can be found at just about any auto store. Never use cleaning products that are made for your house.
3. Purchase a hand held vacuum just for your car. There are vacuums that are made to be kept in your car. If you take the time to vacuum your car at least every two weeks you will be able to avoid having food rot under one of your chairs or in a seat.
4. Scrub your carpet and your seats. There are plenty of upholstery and leather cleaners that are sold in auto stores, to help keep your car clean. Make sure that you take the time to read the label before using it, so that you do not ruin the inside of your car. In some cases it may be necessary for you to test the chemical on a small patch before cleaning the rest of your upholstery, or leather.
5. Don’t let people eat in your car. This is definitely one way to make sure there is no food in your car, which can add to the amount of germs in your vehicle. This would include having kids with candy in your car, since this is one sure way to ruin the carpeting in your vehicle.
6. Spray your car down with antibacterial spray at least once a week. This will help to kill any germs or bacteria in your vehicle. These are just a few suggestions on how to keep germs and bacteria out of your vehicle. Doing this is especially important when you have young children, who travel in the car with you on a regular basis. It may seem like a lot of additional work to go through just to make sure that your car is clean, but it will definitely be worth it in the long run.
